Personal statement

A committed security and personal-protection professional and lifelong student of self-defence
and directed-energy technologies. Highly disciplined, physically prepared and entirely dedicated
to the mission and everything it stands for. I bring my own equipment, my own training, and a
level of conviction that cannot be taught. I do not need to be told why the work matters — I
already know, better than most.

Qualifications & training

  • Taekwondo — 5th Dan black belt; qualified Master Instructor (ITF).
  • SIA Door Supervisor and CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) licences (current).
  • Level 3 Award in Physical Intervention & Conflict Management.
  • Civilian firearms & marksmanship (target and clay); club range safety officer.
  • Self-funded study in electromagnetic threat awareness and directed-energy fundamentals (correspondence).

Career history

  • 2009–present — Vanguard Self-Reliance Academy — Founder & Chief Instructor. Established and run a self-defence and preparedness school: unarmed combat, situational awareness and "grid-down" resilience. Growing waiting list.
  • 2004–2009 — Tesco Stores plc — Security Officer, then Security Team Leader (regional). Loss prevention, CCTV monitoring, incident response and detention. Employee of the Month (three occasions).
  • 2001–2004 — Sable & Corrick Security Services — Contract Security Officer. Retail, events and industrial-site stewarding; keyholding and mobile patrol.
  • 1996–2001 — various — doorman, event steward and warehouse nightwatch roles.
  • Ongoing (voluntary) — Neighbourhood Vigilance Association — Founder & Coordinator. Local monitoring and a substantial personal research archive.

Interests

Directed-energy research; long-range target shooting; taekwondo; emergency preparedness.

Extraordinarily enthusiastic. Knows the programme better than we do — unnervingly so. Aligned to the mission; perhaps over-aligned. Brought his own folder.

For the record, two concerns. He speaks about the 'grid' and the 'beam' openly and with real reverence, as though it were all quite glorious — a liability in the wrong room. And he is, by his own CV, a fifth-dan and a keen marksman who has just 'got into' directed energy. That is a great deal of enthusiasm to keep pointed the right way.

He is a zealot, yes. But a zealot never resigns and never leaks — one does not blow the whistle on one's own church. He will work weekends for nothing. The only management task is keeping him away from a microphone.

comment:4 by M. Ross (Personnel Security), 14 years ago

Agreed. True believers are the cheapest security we have. Keep him enthusiastic and pointed away from journalists.

comment:5 by G. Naismith (People & Places), 14 years ago

Appointed to Vigilance support, provisional. Standing note: he is not, under any circumstances, to be given a public-facing microphone.
