 Thin. It stays thin no matter how long we work it.

 C. S. Yorington. Founder. Named on nothing current; signed on
 things too old to test. The company venerates him -- a portrait
 in every boardroom, the creed under his name -- but will not,
 or cannot, say when he lived. We hold three "born" years, none
 agreeing, and no death on any register we can reach.

 The portrait does not help. Good coat, no date. It has hung
 long enough that anyone who could place it has retired or died,
 and CYM does not replace what it prefers left vague.

 A founder you cannot date, at a company you cannot see into,
 selling a product with an origin no one will name. The blanks
 line up. We have stopped expecting them to fill.
